Dreams of Jesus December 4th, 2006
Do you believe God can speak through dreams? He can, and has.
There are many stories from around the globe of Jesus revealing himself to people through dreams and visions, especially in the Muslim world.
Last week, a co-worker brought a story of testimony from North Africa. Because we have little knowledge on our own of how God is using the work that we do here (creating evangelistic media to be broadcast into North Africa), it is always wonderful to hear testimonies like this.
A young North African man, a Muslim with no knowledge of Jesus, was met by Him in a dream. In this dream, Jesus said: “If you want to know more about me, ask your aunt.”
The young man was a little confused because he didn’t know who the man in his dream was or why his aunt should know, but knew he should do as the man said. He went to his aunt to explain what had happened in the dream and to ask her about the man who had spoken to him through it. His aunt was unsure about talking to him at first; though she was a believer, she hadn’t told anyone else in her family about her faith, and was frightened of what could happen if she did. (In many countries it is illegal and dangerous to openly declare yourself a Christian, even to your immediate family.)
Instead of personally telling her nephew about who Jesus is, she told him to watch a television program in his own dialect where he could learn about Jesus himself. The program she directed him to was “Way of Righteousness” - one of the programs produced by MMC.
As a result of watching this program, the young man is now a believer.
The programs we produce are simply a tool. God is using His Spirit and divine interaction to touch the hearts and minds of people in North Africa with no other exposure to the gospel, and in stories such as this, point them towards the media He allows us to create. His body of believers is growing.
